PBI Capitol Summit

External Project Process-Based Evaluations

MEI's PBI Capitol Summit is an annual event connecting advocates for low-income, first-generation students served by the PBI programs to Capitol Hill. This professional development session is designed to assist PBI staff in learning the legislation and regulations that guide their programs. MEI staff and faculty will discuss the Legislation, your specific PBI regulations, the Education Department Guidelines (EDGAR) and OMB Uniform Cost Circulars as well as the process and authority associated with revising your budgets. The event also includes professional development and leadership training engagement events designed to enhance the work of college access and success professionals with their students and institutions.

PBI Best Practices

Compliance Assessments (Mock Monitoring Reviews)

 

PBI Best Practices is designed assist PBI personnel in improving the operation and success of the PBI projects. Whether you are new to the staff of a project funded under the Federal PBI Programs or have been involved with a PBI project for many years, this training will provide strategies and best practices to help you do your job better. You will also learn about Grant Management and compliance with everything it takes to actually operate your PBI grant from legislation & regulations to fiscal concerns and reporting.

Onboarding & Professional Development Trainings

Monthly meetings offered by MEI as a place for the PBI community to have an opportunity to connect with peers, discuss current challenges, and learn current legislative and regulatory authority to help you run your program through these unprecedented times. Attendees will get up-to-date information from Capitol Hill and the U.S. Department of Education and have the chance to share helpful practices that are working for them. We are in this together.

Webinar Training

Project Implementation & On-going Technical Assistance

MEI explores innovative and economical ways to deliver professional development training to recipients in the comfort of their home or office. These webinars encourage participation through a combination of web-based presentation and conference call. The low-cost trainings (no travel, lodging, or meal costs) provide program staff high-quality professional development in their offices with lesser interruption of provisions of service to their participants.
